TLOA is a non-profit charity created to directly assist afflicted youth and those who suffer from addiction. TLOA is dedicated to the ministry of Father Mychal Judge, the NYC Fire Department Chaplain killed on September 11, 2001, at the World Trade Center.

Father Mike's ministry continues as TLOA makes the first of it's annual grant's to St. Christopher's Inn, Inc.

St. Christopher's Inn in Garrison NY shelters over 1,200 men each year; most whom suffer from alcoholism and/or drug addiction. The Inn was founded almost 100 years ago by Fr. Paul Watson, and is home to St. Anthony's clinic- an OASAS licensed alcohol and substance abuse outpatient program and their primary health care clinic.

-
The shelter provides room and board at no cost to the individual for up to 21 days. Clients who enter into the St. Anthony's chemical dependency treatment program may stay for up to an additional 90 days.
-
Shelter counselors provide case management to assist clients with discharge planning, vocational services and provide a needs assessment.
-
All clients are assessed for alcohol and chemical dependence.
-
All clients receive a complete physical examination.
-
Individual and Pastoral counseling available for all clients.
-
AA and NA meetings daily

Private individuals and foundations support shelter services since the Inn receives no government funds for it's services.

A recent client of St. Christopher's Inn described his experience this way when he met with TLOA founders,

"I am very grateful that I had an opportunity to come to St. Christopher's. When I arrived in St. Christopher's I was in desperate need of help. The life that I worked so hard to get was starting to fall apart on me. This disease of alcoholism and addiction was taking all that I loved in life away, including my life".

"I am filled with such feelings of gratitude toward the friars, counselors and my peers. The Friars who took us in clothed us, fed us, and gave us a bed to sleep in. The counselors worked with us for over ninety days to unbottle the feelings we had suffered for so many years to get to the core of our addiction. My peers in my support group also played a big role as they themselves shared lots of the same experiences, and provided a shoulder to cry on. This was all within the spirit of helping one another."

"The love that is on this Holy mountain among ourselves with God is really unexplainable. The folks up here gave me a new start and helped me get my life back on track. I want to say thank you".
