TLOA is a non-profit charity created to directly assist afflicted youth and those who suffer from addiction. TLOA is dedicated to the ministry of Father Mychal Judge, the NYC Fire Department Chaplain killed on September 11, 2001, at the World Trade Center.
 
 

Michael J. Walker
Vice President & Founder, Director

Michael Walker is Co-Founder and Treasurer of the TLOA Fund, dedicated to mentor and long-time friend Father Mychal Judge. Walker, originally from Poughkeepsie, New York, first met Judge in Manhattan in 1995, while seeking help for a personal problem. Inspired by the concept of TLOA and by Judge’s ardent dedication to community outreach, Walker joined Judge in working with the homeless and addicted youth. Allied through their work and common experiences, Father Mike and “Young Michael,” as dubbed by Judge, commenced an immutable friendship. Walker co-founded TLOA in the benevolent spirit of Father Mike, as echoed through his last words to Walker, “I’m praying and I love you.”

Prior to his current position as a senior trader for the Citadel Investment Group, Walker was a proprietary trader at Bear Wagner Specialist under the tutelage of legendary arbitrageur and philanthropist John Mulheren. He was previously employed by Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown, Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette Toronto Dominion Back.

Steven D. McDonald
Member at Large & Co-Founder, Director


New York City Detective Steven McDonald was born in Queens, NY in 1957. At age twenty-two Steven enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a Hospital Corpsman until his honorable discharge in 1979.  From 1980 until 1984 McDonald worked as a contract manager for Crothrall-American Hospital Services before he began his career with the New York City Police Department.  In McDonald's second year working as a member of an anti-crime unit in New York's Central Park he was shot in the line of duty.  Upon his release from nearly a year long hospital stay, McDonald was awarded the New York City Police Department's Medal of Honor in June 1987.  In 1995 McDonald was promoted to Detective Investigator and in 2003 he was promoted to his current office: 1st grade Detective.

Since 1991 McDonald has worked within New York City's schools as a volunteer to promote forgiveness and non-violence.  He has been awarded the John F. Kennedy National Award, the Isaac Liberman Public Service Award, and is a member of the 100 Year Association of New York.  In 1998 McDonald developed a program directed to promulgate his message of non-violence.  Today he travels all over the world presenting his program to schools, police precincts, and various community groups.

In 1989 McDonald co-authored "The Steven McDonald Story" with his wife Patricia- a poignant chronicle of his life beginning the day he was shot in Central Park and paralyzed from the neck down and the experiences he has subsequently endured.  Steven and Patricia live Malverne, Long Island with their eighteen year old son Connor.

John P. Keegan

CURRENTLY: Chairman and President of the Charles Edison Fund (the “Fund”).
Established in 1948 by Thomas Alva Edison’s son, the Fund is a philanthropic institution dedicated to supporting worthwhile endeavors in the areas of medical research, science education and historic preservation. Chairman, President and Trustee of the Edison Preservation Foundation (“the Foundation”). The Foundation, a nonprofit organization incorporated in 1996, operates for historical, scientific and educational purposes with an emphasis on the preservation of Edison’s ideas, processes, inventions, inspiration and works. Former Chair and current Member, Advisory Council for Graduate Studies and Research, University of Notre Dame duLac; Chairman, TLOA Foundation. Secretary and Trustee of the Elsie E. and Joseph W. Beck Foundation. Partner with the law firm of Christiansen, Jube & Keegan, Shrewsbury, New Jersey; Director, Robert A. Stanger & Co., Investment Banking Firm.

FORMERLY: Partner and of Counsel with the New York law firms of Burns, VanKirk, Greene & Kafer and Abberley Kooiman Marcellinio & Clay. Member, Advisory Council for Long Range Planning, Holy Cross Church, Rumson, NJ; Member, Finance Committee, Diocese of Trenton; Chairman of the Board, Holy Cross Grammar School, Rumson, NJ.

Michael Brennan
Director


Michael Brennan, a tried friend of the late Mychal Judge, is currently in charge of high yield and distressed sales for Citigroup Global Markets in London. Mr. Brennan began his Wall Street Career at Alex Brown and moved to Bankers Trust in 1997 after acquisition. At Bankers Trust Mr. Brennan worked in the high yield and fixed income divisions. In 1998, Mr. Brennan moved from New York to pioneer a high yield department for Bankers Trust in London. Mr. Brennan has worked at Toronto Dominion as Head of Training and Sales and ran the high yield and sales desks for Credit Suisse First Boston from 2001 to 2004.

Mr. Brennan was born in 1965 in Rockaway Beach, NY. He graduated Iona College with a degree in business. Mr, Brennan is currently married to wife Maureen and has four children: Maggie, Mick Jr., Colin, and Teddy. He enjoys spending summers with his family at their home in Southampton, NY. To date Mr. Brennan serves on the boards of Custom Vault Securities, Gateway Communications, Joella Productions, and the Brennan Family Foundation.

Donald Dillon
Director


Donald Dillon is a Director in the U.S cash equity business of London based broker Collins Stewart. Prior to his current employment Mr Dillon was a equity block trader at Merrill Lynch in New York after spending seven years at Bear Stearns in similar employment. Mr Dillon was introduced to Father Mychal a week before his wedding when his priest had a stroke and Father Mychal came to the rescue. A theme that Mr Dillon and his wife realised was not uncommon.

Mr. Dillon was born in Brooklyn in 1964. Shortly thereafter his family moved to Rockaway Beach. He attented Xavier H.S in NYC and graduated from Fairfeild University with a degree in business in 1986. He is married and lives in New Jersey with his wife Karen and his three sons, Conor, Liam and Jack. [ Back To Top ]
